What sets this web site apart from other community radio web sites?

After much research, this web site was designed with the special requirements of- and options available to Community Radio in mind.

Of special interest was the option to allow the Program Manager, Presenters, Committee members and the listening public to participate in creating and maintaining content for the web site, thereby allowing for a diverse, vibrant and colourful online community truly reflecting a diverse, vibrant and colourful community radio station.

Hereunder I describe some of the features that make that difference:

At a meeting of the Friends of 4CCR 89.1 FM held on 23 February 2010, a proposal by Clemens Vermeulen, 4CCR FM/Cairns FM 89.1 webmaster since 1995, to host, manage and further develop the old cairnsfm891.org/.au site into the new 'Friends of 4CCR 89.1 FM' web site on behalf of the group was enthusiastically received and endorsed by the members present.

This Web Site (ed: Cairnsfm891.org) was shut down, by request of Rodney Coutts. A new Web Site is almost complete, thanks to Billy Lee Long & others.

22/02/2010-This Website (ed: Cairnsfm891.org) was removed by the request of Cairns Fm 89.1 Management, and should not be operating.
This site will be shut down completely in the next few days, with a new website address coming soon with a new host.

Attention Everyone who checks this website!

Right now its Wednesday 30th December, 2009.
This Cairns FM 89.1 website has not been updated with information for a while.
I have been asked by the current management committee to work on up grading the website which is vital to the station.
Currently you may read information that is old, out of date mixed with other stuff. We at Cairns FM 89.1 ask that you have kindly bared with us and soon the improved site will be up & running, there will be alot of changes in 2010 so look out!
